Plan both ends of the journey
Confirm where the goods will be collected in South Africa and where responsibility changes between the seller, carrier and recipient. Ask who prepares the shipment documents and who handles any questions at the destination. Record the packed size, weight, value and item description accurately. Compare the carrier’s written inclusions against the cost of buying locally in Zimbabwe. If a quote leaves an important charge unresolved, keep it as unknown in your comparison until the responsible party confirms it.
